On July 24, 1927, Charles Lindbergh made an unexpected stop on Old Orchard Beach. The field he was due to land in was fogbound, but he knew he had a much larger landing strip at Old Orchard. Here, in the picture below, Spirit of St. Louis is backed into Harry Jones' Hangar and guarded by local policeman (Sgt. Lewis Fowler - identified as second from left). Lindbergh is center, and on the far right in a suit, is a reporter that had been following his cross country good-will flight for the New York Daily Mirror Newspaper.
In early 2009, we decided to completely renovate the former "Big Kahuna" located upstairs from the Patio Pub into a more "upscale" club. We painstakingly stripped, demolished and renovated the old "frat-house" and turned it into a premier venue with a complete panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean. We're rather proud of the result, and you'll be amiss if you don't visit Lindbergh's Landing while you're in Old Orchard Beach and visiting us on The Pier.
We offer fantastic views, a complete menu, a top-notch bar, and the best DJ's Maine has to offer. Come dance the night away with us at Lindbergh's Landing.............
